Acid Wasp is the first single from Mount XLR's caution tape series, which explores the concept and color palettes of caution tapes (black and yellow). Under its representative figure of danger and alert, Mount XLR camouflages through his music.

The single album is divided into two parts:

The first track, "Oegno Aep", carries strong influences of UK bass and a subtle nuance of early 2010s Chicago footwork in the subs. The overall elements in the song are wild and vibrant, yet the way they shape their transients is mild and gentle.

The second track, "Acid Wasp", as the title suggests, is characterized by thunderstorm-like breakbeat samples and acid bass lines. In contrast to the simplicity of the first track, this entire journey takes us to pure euphoria. Although the track is rooted in the language of UK Garage and the breakbeat genre, it illustrates wide dynamics reminiscent of dubstep and bass music throughout the song.

There is two common elements resonate in between; the samples and vocals.

Mount XLR treats his samples in very orthodox and conservative but child-like ways. Traditional oldschool Sampler chopped tracker running breakbeats transform into sizzling Ableton-stretched sample all of a sudden, then morphed back, texturising via Reel to reel tape. Furthermore, Samples from the 90s compact disks and the modern websites make an interesting conversation during the songs.

On the other hand, the vocals help the instruments blurring each other's borderline. Sometimes it is thoughtlessly placed, however, on the other sequence, the vocals dance its solo delicately on the earthquaking ground.

Acid Wasp'는 Mount XLR의 경고/주의 테이프의 개념과 색상에 착안한 음악적 탐구 프로젝트의 첫 번째 싱글이다.

첫 번째 트랙 Oegno Aep'은 UK Bass를 기반으로 2010년대 Chicago Footwork의 미묘한 뉘앙스가 담긴 사운드를 들려준다. 거칠고 투박한 소리들이 전반적으로 배치되어 활기를 띄지만, 트랜지언트는 매우 젠틀하고 온화하게 피어난다.

두 번째 트랙 'Acid Wasp'는 제목만큼 몰아치는 Breakbeat 샘플과 Acid 베이스라인이 특징적인 곡으로, 첫 번째 트랙 'Oegno Aep'과는 대조적으로 곡 전체에 걸쳐 청자를 황홀감으로 이끈다.
UK Garage와 Breakbeat 장르에 뿌리를 두는 동시에 트랙의 전반에 심어진 Dubstep과 Bass Music을 연상시키는 아이디어들은 곡 안에서 광범위한 역동성을 보여준다.

두 트랙은 모두 샘플과 보컬을 주요 요소로 사용했다.

Mount XLR이 샘플링을 하는 방식은 매우 정통적이지만 한편으로는 의도적인 아마추어리즘을 보여준다. 올드스쿨한 Jungle의 샘플링 방식인 트래커 샘플링을 차용한 브레이크비트 사운드를 들려주다가도 거칠고 더러운 에이블톤 리샘플링이 기습적으로 등장하기도 하며, 다시 릴테이프의 사운드를 들려주는 등 다채로운 텍스쳐를 능숙하게 표현해낸다. 90년대 CD와 현대의 Web에서 차용한 샘플들은 트랙속에서 서로 연주되며 흥미로운 대화를 나눈다.

반면 보컬들은 의도가 분명하지 않은 방식으로 배치되지만 악기들간의 경계를 흐리며 역동적인 강렬한 사운드 위에서 홀로 섬세히 춤을 춘다.
